How to get back on your healthy feet: Using a natural solution!

How to get back on your healthy feet: Using a natural solution!

Step 1: Avoid infection

Fungal infections are very contagious and are easily contracted in the showers and changing rooms of sports facilities and common areas of swimming pools or sauna’s. The fungi, similar to common mushrooms, leave behind tiny and invisible spores which are attached to fragments of dead or shredded skin on infected people. Humid and highly frequented places where people walk barefoot are a true “breeding ground” for fungi and their spores. Avoiding contact with these wet surfaces, for instance by wearing flip-flops can help prevent infections. It is always important to dry your feet properly (also between the toes) after washing or playing sports.

Especially after visiting common area’s it is recommended to treat (healthy) feet preventively with a fungi inhibiting spray such as FunghiClear™.

Step 2: Clean shoes

It is very important to pay attention to your shoes. Make sure your shoes fit properly so the skin will not be damaged by intensive usage. Also you should maintain your shoes well and change them regularly. For your daily shoes it is recommended not to wear these too long (max 2-3 days in a row) and air them properly afterwards. For sports shoes and sneakers it is important to dry them properly after usage.

In order to prevent fungal (re-)infections it helps to spray the inside of the shoes with one or two “puffs” of the FunghiClear™-spray. Do this before and after usage.

Step 3: Family First

Fungal infections of the feet and toes are specific to the skin and nails of your feet. These fungi grow well in the specific micro-biome of your feet and are not very likely to do well on other parts of the human skin. But the infection is contagious and, especially because of the spores that can come to life many months or even years after, fungal infections of the feet can easily spread from one toe(nail) to the next. Just as easy these fungal infections can spread to other members of the family that you share for instance the bathroom with. To prevent fungal infections of the feet and toenails to otherwise healthy members of your household it is recommended to use FunghiClear™ preventively. And especially if you are an active sportsperson, it is easy to get infected or carry spores with you in your sports shoes.

Spraying your feet and shoes with FunghiClear™ can help prevent fungal infections spreading to the whole family.

Step 4: Great treatment and compliance

Fungal infections can be very persistent, hard to treat, and easy to return after treatment, even many months or years later. To improve the chances of successful treatment by FunghiClear™ and prevention of re-infection it is important to focus on two things.

First, treatment compliance is essential. Even when symptoms of the fungal infection have disappeared, it is essential to continue the treatment for at least 3 months. Often treatment up to 12 months is recommended.

Second, especially for elderly people and people with a compromised immune system it is strongly recommended to have your feet checked at least twice a year by a professional therapist such as a podiatrist

Step 5: Healthy Lifestyle

Lastly, it is important that you keep your feet in optimal condition throughout the year. No matter whether you are an active or passive person, whether you are old or young or whether you are healthy or impacted by a chronic or acute medical condition. After all it’s your feet that “keep you going” and ensure that you stay connected and mobile.

We all know that to stay in good shape we should brush our teeth and wash our hands regularly during the day. Similarly, you should take good care of your feet, using a soothing cream or a natural spray such as FunghiClear™.
